The Community Chest of Hong Kong, c. 1989

The work of the Community Chest is highly regarded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club. The Club involved in fund raising campaign by placing collection boxes at the Club’s premises since 1969, and offered financial supports to the organisation since 1974. In 1986, the Club donated further $10 million to the Operational Endowment Fund which was founded to provide a steady source of income to defray administration expenses. Recently, the Club aided to provide new office premises for Community Chest with a fund of $35 million in 1999, and to subsidise operation of a group of 16 social service centres for the elderly in 2004.
