- Statue Square and Hong Kong Club
The building with bamboo scaffolding was the Hong Kong Club, a major social venue for the British expats in Hong Kong.
- Queen's building and St. George's Building under construction
The photograph shows Queen's building (in the background) and St. George's Building (in the foreground) under construction. Queen's building was constructed by the architecture firm, Leigh and Orange Limited. St. George's Building was completed in 1904/05.
- City Hall and Supreme Court under construction
The photograph shows the back view of the City Hall, facing Des Voeux Road; the Supreme court (in the foreground, on the right), Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Building (in the foreground, on the left) and the Government House (above) can be seen. The City Hall was opened by Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, on the 2nd November 1869. In 1934, it was demolished for the expansion of the new Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Building.
- Supreme Court under construction
The photograph shows the Supreme Court (in the foreground), City Hall (in the background, on the left) and Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Building (in the background, on the right). Supreme Court was under construction and was completed in 1912. The Floor plans were made by the London firm of Aston and Webb. The local Public Works Department supervised the construction process.
- St. John's Cathedral under construction
Different bamboo poles and planks can be seen on the scaffolds.
