  • Graduation Ceremony of The University of Hong Kong held yesterday
    Graduation Ceremony was held at the University of Hong Kong on 31 May 1940. Forty-seven students graduated from various faculties. Acting Governor N. L.Smith, Acting Colonial Secretary R.A.C. North, Vice-chancellor of the University of Hong Kong Dr. Sloss, Chow Shou Son, Lo Man Kam, Tam Ngar Tse and Soong Ching Ling were also present.
  • Summer workshops for middle school teachers
    The Ministry of Education had decided to hold summer workshops for teachers of overseas Chinese secondary schools in the summer holiday. Hsu Ti-shan and Irene Cheng were among those appointed to the committee.
  • Application for central admission to national universities and colleges starts today
    Announcement of central admission to national universities and colleges in 1940: The Hong Kong office of universities in Kunming started accepting applications from today. Prospectuses were available to interested candidates at the admission office set up in Sai Nam Secondary School. The report also included an extract released by the admission office.
  • The Hong Kong Boy Scouts held skills competition yesterday
     The Hong Kong Boy Scouts Skill Contest was held on 25 May 1940 at the Diocesan Boys' School, Kowloon. The Governor and Director of Education were present. The contests was presided by Commander-in-chief of British Army and the Chief Captain.
