Envelope used during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong
Envelope used during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. The six Japanese stamps on the envelope bear the postmark '22 January 1942'. Postal services partially resumed one month after Hong Kong fell, but the stamps featuring the British monarch used before the war were replaced by Japanese stamps. Restrictions were imposed on the contents and destinations of all postal items.
