Kuo Tsing’s father and Yang Kang’s father are sworn brothers, and they hope that in time their sons will follow suit.The invading troops of the Chin Kingdom kill Kuo’s father and abduct his mother. Yang Kang and his mother are taken off to the Chin palace, and Kuo Tsing is rescued by Chiu and the “Seven Evils” who teach him martial art.After 18 years, Kuo Tsing goes to the capital city of the Chin Kingdom, where he meets a little beggar, Huang Yung, who is in fact a girl disguised as a beggar boy; the two soon becomes friends. In the street, they come across Yang Kang, who, having grown up in the palace of the Chin noblemen, his captors, has become arrogant and boastful. Later, Kuo Tsing improves his martial skill under the guidance of Chin Chen Chi Tzi and in the meantime, Huang Yung reveals her identity as a pretty girl and an extremely skilful martial artist, whose father is the renowned fighting master, Huang Yui Shih, Kuo Tsing and Huang Yung develop a great affection for each other, but the “Seven Evils” who years ago rescued Kuo Tsing from the invading Chin troops warn Kuo Tsing against the relationship.Kuo Tsing continues to improve his fighting skill under various masters, and he becomes adept in “18 Palms”. A duel takes place between Huang Yui Shih and Kuo Tsing, and Kuo is defeated. He promises Huang that he will kill himself but only after he has avenged himself against his father’s killer, who is a Prince of the Chin Kingdom.Huang Yung persuades Kuo Tsing to live on her father’s Peach Island, instead of seeking his father’s killer. On Peach Island, Kuo Tsing meets and befriends a wonderful martial artist, Chou Pai Tung, who teaches him the “Nine Secrets” strokes. Huang Yung’s father arranges a duel to decide whether Kuo Tsing or another suitor, Ouyang Ke, should marry his daughter. Kuo Tsing wins the duel, but before they can be married, Kuo Tsing has to leave Huang Yung, because of the enmity between Huang Yui Shih and Chou Pai Tung.What will be the outcome, and will Kuo Tsing be able to take revenge on his father’s killer?

At the Beggar Clan gathering, Kuo Tsing (Alexander Fu Sheng) and Huang Yung (Niu Niu) expose Iron-Palmed Clan’s conspiracy with the Chings. Huang is then reinstated as the Beggar Clan chief. Guided by an inscribed painting, they find their way into Iron-Palmed’s prohibited zone in search of Yao Fei’s instruction manual. Huang is seriously palmed by Chao Chin-chin (Lo Meng). They escaped across a poisonous black swamp and encounter Auntie Ying (Ching Li) whom they ask for help with Huang’s wound. But she sends them on a three-day journey to Prince Tuan (Ti Lung) to get treatment. After fighting off his four pupils, they finally reach Prince Tuan, who is now a monk. Knowing that they are Hung’s pupils, he immediately cures Huang. Only afterwards do the pair learn that Huang’s treatment will make Tuan lose his kung fu for five years, and that Ying deliberately sent them to avenge an old wrong.Years ago, Chuan Chen Clan chief Wang Chung-yang had brought his classmate Chou Pai-tung (Kuo Chue) to the palace to exchange lessons with Prince Tuan. Chow had an affair with Auntie Ying, then a Royal concubine, but deserted her. Later, Ying gave birth to a son. One day, the baby was palmed by an intruder. Ying sought Tuan’s help to treat him, but Tuan refused as to cure him would render his kung fu ineffective for five years. Ying therefore stabbed her own baby to death, and vowed vengeance.Kuo and Huang know that Ying is intending to kill Tuan and decide to protect him. When she breaks into the Buddhist temple, Tuan orders his men to give her a dagger to stab him with, but she eventually gives up with deep emotion.After she has left, Ying meets Chao Chin-chin and is palmed by him. She soon realizes that her baby was killed by the same man. A fight erupts, but Ying is not his match. Kuo, Huang, and the four pupils arrive on the scene to support her and Chou suddenly appears and uses his tricks to help Kuo kill Chao. But Ying has old scores to settle with Chou …..

The story continues from where we leave off last time: Kuo Tsing (Alexander Fu Sheng) by winning a duel wins the hand of Huang Yung (Niu Niu). But because of the enmity between Huang Yung’s father and Chou Pai Tung, the latter abducts Kuo Tsing onto his boat. Chasing after Kuo Tsing, Huang Yung falls into the hands of Ouyang Fung (Wang Lung-wei). This eventually leads to a fierce battle between Kuo Tsing and Ouyang Fung. Hung Chi-kung (Ku Feng) who is fighting on Kuo Tsing’s side is badly injured but manages to flee the enemy with Kuo Tsing and Huang Yung. Knowing that his chance of fully recovering is very slim, Hung asks Huang Yung to take over his role as leader of the Beggar Clan by giving her the Bamboo Stick. It is the tradition of the Beggar Clan that whoever gets handed over the Bamboo Stick becomes the new clan leader. Hung also teaches Huang Yung the special martial art tactics of their clan.Hung being a gourmet sneaks into the palace with Kuo Tsing. Huang Yung and Chou Pai Tung in order to steal a delicacy from the royal kitchen. In the royal garden they run into the search party led by the Chin Prince who is out to look for Yueh Fei’s letter which supposedly contains all the secret fighting techniques. Ouyang Fung and Yang Kang (Li Yi-min) are also with the Chin Prince. The bloody encounter of the two parties results in the wounding of Kuo Tsing by Ouyang Fung. With the help of Huang Yung, Kuo Tsing hides in the secret compartment of an inn to heal his wounds.The Bamboo Stick which Hung gives to Huang Yung is later stolen by Yang Kang. In a meeting of the Beggar Clan, Yang Kang appears with the stolen Bamboo Stick and claims himself leader of the clan. But Huang Yung arrives just in time to prove to the clan, by performing the special martial art tactics which she learns from Hung that it is she who should succeed Hung’s place as clan leader.
The Emperor And His Brother
Chief Yu Wang-ting (Chin Chun) and No. 4 Wen Tai-lai (Teng Wei-hao) of the famous anti-Ching Hung Hua Society, sneak into the palace for secret talks with the ruling Emperor Chien Lung. After they leave, the monarch orders his royal guard Chang Chao-chung (Lo Lieh) to pursue and kill them. Yu dies of illness on the journey. After Wen and his wife Lo Ping (Chen Chi-chi) are rescued by Lu Fei-ching of Wu Tang, his daughter Li Yuan-tzu (Huang Min-yi), and the Society’s No. 14 Yu Yu-tung (Ku Kwun-chung), they are granted sanctuary by Chou Chung-ying (Ku Feng), owner of the Tieh Tan Mansion. Wen is later captured when Chou’s young son tactlessly reveals their hideout, while Yu rescues Wen’s wife.Meanwhile, Chen Chia-lo (Ti Lung), who succeeds Yu Wan-ting as the society’s new chief, leads a group of men to Tieh Tan Mansion to rescue Wen. When Lo Ping tells him they have been betrayed by Chou, Chen challenges Chou to a fight, but the misunderstanding is cleared up when he finds Chou has already killed his own son. Later on, Chou sets fire to his own mansion to avoid attack by the Chings, and joins the Hung Hua Society.Chen offers sacrifices to his mother in his hometown, and is surprised to see his new acquaintance Tung Fang-erh there. Tung claims to be an officer ordered by the Court to pay respects to her because of her previous contribution. Tung gives Chen a jade pendant telling him that he can use it to see the emperor whenever he needs any help.Chen returns to his base in Hangchow. Knowing that Wen is detained in the governor’s jail, he sneaks in to spy on them. There he sees Tung Fang-erh, now in his real identity as Emperor Chien Lung, questioning Wen. A man in black secretly helps Chen to visit Wen in his cell. Wen tells Chen that Chien Lung is his own brother, and that he became Emperor Yung Cheng’s heir due to a swap at birth.An attempt to rescue Wen backfires, and finds Chen and his men locked up in a tower with mines laid by the Chings. A monk, who later turns out to be Yu Yu-tung, braves the blaze to break open the iron gate to help them escape.Chen and his men capture Emperor Chien Lung alive through the help of a famous courtesan Yu Ju-yi (Linda Chu). Chen meets his brother face to face at a dungeon, tells him of their relationship and offers to submit him documentary proof if he agrees to join their anti-Ching revolutionary cause. Meanwhile, Chien Lung is released in exchange for Wen.
The Spirit Of The Sword
Water Clan Chief Tzu Yi-hou (Yueh Hua), twice winner of the five-yearly martial arts contest, is severely wounded by a samurai killer shortly before the upcoming duel at Tai Lake. He sends his brother Pao-yu (Liu Yung) and his servant Pai Chung (Sun Chien) on a long journey to get an antidote for him, and then hides himself underwater to await their return.On the way, Pao-yu encounters Little Princess (Huang Hsing-hsiu). She is taken hostage and forced to reveal Pao-yu’s destination. Later she tells Pao-yu she has been poisoned and asks him to seek a remedy for her from Tung Fang Fei-yen (Chen Man-na). Pao-yu reaches Tung Fang’s quarters, only to be drugged and questioned, and then left to awake on a mountainside beside Little Princess.Pao-yu meets his brother’s old but estranged friend Yun Meng (Wang Jung), who agrees to help him get the antidote from Wan Hua Mansion. After much difficulty, Pao-yu arrives at Wan Hua and is met by its owner (Chang Ying) and his daughter Star (Mary Han). He not only acquires the antidote, but also a precious sword and the skill to counter the samurai’s attacks.On his way back, Pao-yu protects Little Princess, but she herself poisons him as she is apparently working secretly for two of the opposing clans in order to support her drug-addicted father. Pao-yu is however rescued from semi-consciousness by the combined efforts of Star and of Little Princess and her father, now in revolt against the two evil clan chiefs.When the two evil clans announce their joint rulership due to the other clans’ inability to compete at the contest, the wounded Tzu appears. He is attacked by the Fire Clan Chief, but is saved by the timely arrival of Pao-yu who uses his newly acquired skills to wipe out the enemy and eventually the samurai also. Tzu is brought to recovery and retains the martial world leadership.
The Sword Of Swords
Knight Mei Ling Chun owns the “sword of swords”, a weapon of exceptional brilliance. It happens that he accepts as his student a young man named Fang Shih-hsiung. Fang has saved the life of Mei’s daughter but with the intent of gaining his goodwill and seizing the coveted blade.Mei lies dying; a fencing contest is held among his students to determine his successor. Fang is defeated by Ling Tseng Hsiao, Mei’s best pupil. The resentful Fang leaves for Shang Kwan Wu’s gang.Fang later kidnaps Ling’s fiancee Pai Feng and holds her hostage for the sword. Pai manages to escape and she and Ling are wed.A year goes by. After the birth of her son, Pai is taken prisoner by Shang during her husband’s absence. Ling tries to rescue her on his return but is maimed in the attempt. Meanwhile, his parents are slain by outlaws led by Fang. His aunt is also mortally wounded and dies after bringing his son to safety. Burying the bodies, Ling unearths the sword.Ling heads for the Shang stronghold, falls into Fang’s trap, loses his blade and is wounded. Fang dumps Ling’s inert form in the woods but he survives and goes into hiding. Shang learns of his whereabouts and dispatches Ma Wu and Sun Chiu to kill him. Ma is slain instead and Sun begs Ling to spare his life. When Ling does so, the grateful Sun releases his wife.In a final confrontation, Ling eliminates Fang and his entire gang in a bloody duel.
The Spiritual Boxer
Hsiao Chien (Wang Yu) takes over as a fake spiritual boxer, performing rites to pretend to conjure up gods, when his drunken master Chih Chiang (Chiang Yang) fails to show up. He plays the Monkey King to supposedly tackle the gods, whom he pretends have shown up to battle him, and he inspires and terrifies the villagers with his stunts. However, Liu Yung, a boxing teacher, detects his fraud and chases him with the police. Hsiao flees to a local inn where he finds that Chih has been caught by the police, and so he escapes to another village.Here, he continues to trick the villagers as a spiritual boxer. Having earned some money, Hsiao helps a youngster pay for buns that the boy is accused of stealing. He also plays a prank on the money collector of a rich landlord, Liu Te-shui. When pursued by the landlord’s men, he is saved by a young girl, Yu Chin-lien (Lin Chen-chi), with whom he finds he has a lot in common.While eating at a food shop with Yu Chin-lien, Hsiao is asked by the servant of a rich family to catch ghosts. They go to the family’s haunted house together. Conspiring with the servant, they succeed in cheating the master of a handsome sum of money and maneuver him into giving his daughter in marriage to his servant.Hsiao then saves a group of peasants from oppression by the landlord Liu. Subsequently, he gives boxing lessons to the youngsters in the village who then take on Liu’s men. Hsiao also joins in the fight, but is beaten by boxers Chen and Chao, who are bandits wanted by the police. When pursued by Chao, Hsiao comes upon his drunk master, and through the latter’s direction, he uses different types of boxing to fight back. The police subsequently arrive to round up the criminals.Hsiao, broke and lonely, decides to turn over a new leaf in life, and is comforted by Yu Chin-lien, his only friend.
Weird Man, The
In the latter part of Han, the Empire is divided into three kingdoms. Emperor Wu of Wei, Tsao Tsao, is effectively in power, while a young warrior, Sun Tse nicknamed The Little Conqueror, succeeds his father as the State ruler and captures Chiangtung.Sun and his favourite general Chou Yu marry two local beautiful sisters Ta Chiao and Hsiao Chiao. Sun’s aide Hsu Kung fails to woo Hsiao Chiao and conspires with Tsao Tsao, suggesting that he also lure his master to join them. Sun refuses, and instead allies himself with Tsao Tsao’s strong rival Yuan Shao, whereupon Tsao Tsao arranges with Hsu Kung to murder Sun. They only succeed in heavily wounding him.A priest with supernatural powers, Yu Chi, performs miracles and is idolized by the masses. Sun orders him to pray for rain, and although Yu does bring the rain, Sun has him beheaded.Yu lives on. His spirit leaves his body in human form to wreak havoc among Sun’s henchmen. But his spirit must always return to his body at a fixed time through the help of his pupils. When Hsu learns of this, he attempts with Sun to destroy Yu’s body. But Yu uses his powers of materialization to kill Sun’s men and to make Hsu expose his own plot against Sun. Finally he brings Hsu to his death at the hands of Chou Yu, and Sun succumbs to his earlier wound.
The Proud Youth
Tso Leng Chan, the elected leader of the Wu Yueh Sword Clan, warns his friends and allies against the possible misdeeds of an evil clan controlled by Tung Fang Pu Pai, at the biennial meeting of all the clans.Liu Cheng-feng (Ling Yun) a deputy leader of the Wu Yueh Clan, tired of the violence of sectarian warfare, decides to quit the martial world. However, his friendship with Chu Yang, a leader of the evil clan, causes suspicion and his wife and children are massacred by his fellow clansmen; but Liu Cheng-feng manages to escape the carnage, and flees to safety.Ling Hu Chung (Wang Yu) of the Wu Yueh Sword Clan, one day rescues a nun, Yi Lin, harassment by a thief, Tieng Pai Kuang (Chen Hui-min). A fight ensues, resulting in the wounding of Ling Hu Chung, and Tieng runs off. The leader of Ling's clan later learns of and misinterprets the friendship between Ling Hu Chung and the nun, and angrily decides he must punish Ling.Ling Hu Chung and Yi Lin one day follow the sounds of music, emanating from a spot nearby, and there find Liu Cheng-feng and Chu Yang playing music together. Their musical piece is called ""The Proud One""; Liu Cheng-feng hands the musical score to Ling Hu Chung, telling him to give it to a person who understands music. Liu Cheng-feng and Chu Yang then, by mutual agreement, kill each other.Ling Hu Chung goes back to his own clan, where he is accused by the leader, Yueh Pu Chun, of disobeying his clan's rules, and he is punished by being placed in solitary confinement in a cave for a year. By chance, Ling Hu Chung discovers secret writings on the cave walls, showing the best techniques of marital art, which Ling practices diligently. He leaves the cave after a year, but is unwilling to repent, and thus earns the displeasure of his elders.Ling Hu Chung finally succeeds in finding a person who understands the music, and this person is Jen Ying Ying, a pretty girl whose father was once the leader of the evil sect but who was deposed by the rebel, Tung Fang Pu Pai, ten years previously. Ling gives the musical score to Ying Ying. The close friendship which develops between Ling Hu Chung and Ying Ying displeases certain members of Ling's clan, and Yueh Pu Chun is urged to expel him.Ling Hu Chung, after managing to release Ying Ying's father from captivity, goes back to his own clan; there he learns that the majority of the clan's leaders have been killed by the thief Tieng Pai Kuang, on instructions given by Yueh Pu Chun. At the meeting which is then taking place to elect a supreme leader, Ling Hu Chung publicly exposes the murderous acts of Yueh Pu Chun, who had all along been in league with the evil sect.
The Thundering Sword
Swordsmen Yu Chien-wen and Cheng Kun-yuan, students of the Grand Master, are ordered to search for the “Heaven and Earth” sword, a powerful weapon with magic powers.Yu runs into Su Chiao Chiao, daughter of the Poison Master. Yu falls for her, though realising his beautiful classmate Chin Hsia loves him.Cheng finds the sword but is wounded by Chiao Chiao’s poison dart. Chiao Chiao is remorseful upon learning Cheng is her lover’s best friend. She disguises herself as Yu, delivers Cheng to Kuan Tien-su and orders him to have Cheng treated at Mt. Hua.Kuan runs into Chiao Chiao’s brother Su Chao-wu who suspects the party has taken the coveted sword. Cheng is seriously wounded in the fight. Chiao Chiao, knowing only that Kuan has failed in the mission, kills all of Kuan’s men except one. This prompts Kuan’s brother to raise an army of swordsmen to challenge Yu Chien-wen, the suspected killer.Chiao Chiao finds Yu , tries to give him the sword and they travel together. On one occasion they are almost killed by poison but are saved by Teng Chiu-jen. Teng suggests they get married but Yu says the Grand Master’s consent must be obtained.The Grand Master approves the match. Chia Hsia, jealous and suspicious, learns that Chiao Chiao has killed the Kuans in Yu’s name and insists Yu should kill Chiao Chiao. Yu, too much in love with Chiao Chiao, flees with the girl instead.Chiao Chiao’s father drugs Yu and hands him over to the vengeful swordsmen. Yu denies the massacre but cannot prove his innocence. Chiao Chiao turns up and admits the killings. Teng also appears with the “Heaven and Earth” sword to defend Yu. The Poison Master has the other magic sword and both blades are broken in the ensuing duel.When the fight ends, Chiao Chiao has committed suicide. Yu bows to her last will, marries her and builds a grave with the epitaph reading “RIP Yu Chien-wen, my beloved wife”.
