Dr. Wai in the Scripture with No Words, released in Hong Kong on 14 March 1996, was directed by Tony Ching Siu Tung and produced by Win's Entertainment Ltd. The film was awarded the Best Visual Effects at the 33rd Golden Horse Awards. Halfway through the trailer, Jet Li single-handedly repels a group of enemies with a nine-section metal whip and in the second half of the trailer, Rosamund Kwan uses the long whip to tackle the opponent.
