Luban ruler and Ink marker

The Luban ruler is believed to have been invented by the legendary carpenter Luban. It was a tool used by craftsmen to determine the auspicious and inauspicious measurements of a building.
An ink marker was a tool used by carpenters to mark long, straight lines. It is composed of an ink cartridge containing cotton yarn dipped in ink and a winding wheel with an ink string. The carpenter pulls out the ink string from the hole in the ink cartridge, fixes one end to the wood and uses the winding wheel to adjust the length of the ink string, which leaves a black line on the wood when the tensed string is plucked.
