Maker's Note | I learnt how to make qins from my teacher, Xu Wenjing in the 1950s. At the time, his vision was already in decline. He checked my work with his hands and instructed me to make modifications. His guidelines were always very precise and accurate. I took care of the wood work while Mr Xu applied the base cement and lacquer. |
