Commercial-residential area for Chinese people on Bonham Strand in Sheung Wan
In the olden days, Bonham Strand in Sheung Wan was a commercial-residential area for Chinese people. In particular, a large number of gold and silver trading companies were concentrated there. The open area in the centre of this photograph around 1910 was once where public canings took place.
