The Governor Sir Geoffry Northcote visited the 3rd Exhibition of Chinese Products inspecting various exhibitors’ products with CMA advisers Sir Robert Kotewall and Yip Lan Chung. Sir Geoffry Northcote was the first Hong Kong Governor ever to visit such an industrial products exhibition.

The company only started operations after the closing of the 1st Exhibition of Chinese Products when manufacturers jointly decided to take steps to improve their products and give local customers and visitors from the European and US markets a better understanding of Chinese products.
Handled by China Products Industrial Service, the Shanghai Zone at the 4th Exhibition of Chinese Products consisted of 20 booths, some eight of which were reserved by China Tea to build a palace-style teahouse.
Shanghai Xinhua has specially shipped a large number of lathes and other machines from Shanghai for display at the 4th Exhibition of Chinese Products. In addition to lathes, the company’s three large-scale factories in Shanghai manufacture planers, drill presses and a variety of other machinery and tools.
In an attempt to tackle Hong Kong’s serious youth unemployment problem, Hong Kong and Kowloon Kaifong Research Council’s Youth Division has announced plans to set up a Youth Pavilion at the forthcoming Silver Jubilee Exhibition of Hong Kong Products. The booth’s key activity will be the staging of an exhibition about youth recreational activities.
