Man Loong Ginger Factory

Man Loong Ginger Factory, situated at No.60, Temple Street, Yaumati, was built in the 1960s. Its products were exported to England, America, Germany and Australiz. It produced preserved ginger and all kinds of preserved fruits, such as pears, plums, cumquats, and chowchow. Gingers were graded into finest ginger, young stem ginger and cargo ginger and were packed in pure syrup and first grade Java cane sugar. The factory also manufactured sugar candy which was sent to Bombay, India and the northern part of China. It also despatched thick soy to London, England. In the busy season from August to the end of the year, the company employed hundreds of male and female labour.
