Life in Shek Kip Mei Resettlement Estate

Despite the inadequate facilities, these resettlement blocks in Shek Kip Mei provide a rare rural-like community to their residents, amidst the bustles in an urban setting. Later as the newer types of resettlement blocks (from Mark III blocks onwards) were built with improvements in some facilities, the residents lost the public space where they could come into contact with each other.
