Kan Tai-keung, one of Hong Kong’s best known designers, designed the stamps for the 1971 and 1973 Festivals. During our interview with him, he spoke about his personal views of the Festival and discussed its social and political background, aims and impact. He recalled being excited as a young man participating in the trendy activities and keen to experience all the new things he came upon. He described the process of designing the stamps and also commented on the design of the Hong Kong Festival logo.
