Cheongsam of Television Broadcasts Limited Non-executive Director Mrs Christina Lee

Mrs Christina Lee (1925-2022), born Look Ngan Kwan, was the wife of late merchant Harold Lee Hsiao Wo and was a non-executive director of Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB). Founded in 1967 by Lee Hsiao Wo and others, TVB is currently Hong Kong’s largest free-to-air television broadcaster. Mrs Lee was well known in her cheongsam. In the past years, at the celebration of TVB’s founding anniversary, TV viewers could see a glamorous Mrs Lee in cheongsam.

Mrs Lee adored the cheongsam because she thought the style suits her. Also, Lee Hsiao Wo loved to see her in cheongsam and she had grown accustomed to the style. Whenever she saw fabric that she thought will make a beautiful cheongsam, she made a mental note of the design and accessories that would go well with the fabric. She then purchased the fabric and let her tailor make a cheongsam out of it. Every one of her cheongsams was thoughtfully designed.
