The South China Morning Post was produced there from 1926 to 1970. Its sister publication, the China Mail, was also produced on the premises. The difficulties of squeezing newsprint in and of delivering papers from the crowded Central District, led the company to sell the site and relocate to Quarry Bay. The site now stands the South China Building, which was completed in 1973.
