The Enchantress
A young swordsman Feng Chi-wu (Mok Siu-chung) comes to a Chung Yuan scenic spot, the former gathering place for Samurai, to investigate the mysterious deaths of martial artists. He chances to rescue a girl Shui Ling (Mary Jean Reimer Lau), but before she tells him to flee, the spirit of her mother Tien Chiao (Wei Chiu-hua) appears in human form. After learning of his background, she poisons him, and is ready to suck his blood. As the day falls, she goes away, after putting her spirit into Shui Ling and telling her to watch Feng Shui Ling revives Feng, telling him to escape, then collapses. The story traces back to the romance and marriage between a Japanese Princess Tien Chiao and Lan Tien-yu (Liu Yung) of the Hua Shan clan. It ended in a tragedy when Lan was pressured by his clan to eliminate his own wife and over 100 samurai suspected of copying Chung Yuan’s martial arts. Tien Chiao was survived by a baby daughter, now the grown-up Shui Ling. Tien Chiao later practices to become a powerful ghost, vowing vengeance on the Chung Yuan martial world.Feng seeks the help of Master Ku (Lo Lieh) to treat the collapsed Shui Ling. Ku performs rites to expel the spirit out of her, but as she is too powerful, he barely succeeds in preserving his own life. Ku then entreats Master Hsin Ching, the former Lan Tien-yu, to treat Shui Ling. Hsin revives her by extracting and sealing Tien Chiao’s spirit. Tien Chiao forces Shui Ling to snatch back her spirit, and after she does, she comes to harass Hua Shan. Not bearing to hurt his former wife, Hsin eventually releases her.To end the longstanding hatred, Hsin solicits Priest Tzu Yi’s (Yueh Hua) help, and is told to approach the Seven Stars. Together they confront the spirits of Tien Chiao and the late samurai near the spiritual world. They enter it only through the help of Tzu Yi. The duel persists, but they fail to overpower her. Then Tien Chiao suddenly possesses Hsin to await the arrival of the other spirits. Finally Hsin has to use fire to destroy himself and Tien Chiao.Player Go to Google Play/iTunes in case NO VLC apps was installed.
