Ti Lung

Ti Lung (1946-) was admitted to Shaw’s “Southern Acting Training Class” in 1968. In the following year, he, being a new face, already played the leading role in Dead End (1969). He then worked with John Chiang as partners, and successively won various awards with The Blood Brothers (1973), The Avenging Eagle (1978), etc. He gained the reputation of the “Hero of Martial Arts”. He collaborated with many other famous directors other than Chang Cheh. For instance, Ti Lung starred in many of Chor Yuen’s films which were adapted from Ku Lung’s novels, including The Jade Tiger (1977) and Clans of Intrigue (1977). All these films helped build the foundation for Shaw’s martial arts movies in a new style. Ti Lung had made over 80 films for Shaw’s, and was one of the important actors of the Shaw studios.
