Chin Ping

Chin Ping (1949-) was selected and sponsored by Shaw’s to take performing arts courses at the Toho Performing Arts School in Japan. Having finished her study, she returned to Hong Kong in 1963. Soon afterwards, she appeared in the period film The Crimson Palm (1964). Though Chin Ping only had a short movie career of 7 years with Shaw’s, she had made over 20 films. In one of them, The Twelve Gold Medallions (1970), she co-starred with Chiao Chiao, Yueh Hua and Wang Xia. The film was a box office success bringing in about HK$1,400,000, and placed the second of the top 10 films of that year. Chin Ping was one of Shaw’s most popular lead actresses.
