Most of the old villages in Kowloon were extinguished during the last millennium, Nga Tsin Wai Village was an exception.

The history of Nga Tsin Wai Village, also known as Hing Yau Yu Village, was believed to be of more than 600 years. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the village suffered from the sea ban when the villagers were forced to abandon all of their properties. In 1724, the village was revived by the Ng, Chan and Lee lineages. A lot of villages in Kowloon were affected due to the expansion of the airport during the period of Japanese Occupation. Nga Tsin Wai was one of the victims as their fields and moat were destroyed.

Interests from real estate developer to acquire Nga Tsin Wai Village began from the 1980s. By 2004, the developer had already possessed nearly 70% of the village. The houses were destroyed immediately upon acquisition. All residents finally moved out from this old village in 2016. Nga Tsin Wai Village was demolished by the pace of urbanisation, and it was wiped out in the tide of history.
