When Leung Pui Ching lived in resettlement estates, she alwasy locked her kids at home. But this made them feel annoyed and they sneaked out whenever the gate was opened. As Leung Pui Ching did not spend much time with her children, she had uneasy relationship with her two sons. To avoid uncomfortable remarks by the others, Leung Pui Ching did not remarry after her husband was dead. Instead, she worked hard to earn money to provide for the family.
