The Treasure Hunters
Chi Tao-pao (Alexander Fu-sheng) and Chao Chu-chi (Chang Chan-peng) seize some letters from an antique-merchant Lu Ku-tung (Liu Chia-yung) thinking they contain a treasure secret. But they are only able to decipher the name of Fa Hua Temple. They hear that a monk from the temple, Wu Hsiang (Gordon Liu Chia-hui), is staying in the town just then, so Chi lures him from his room while Chao secretly searches it. His efforts are foiled, however, and at that moment a certain Mo Chung (Wang Lung-wei) appears, claiming to have come to rescue Wu.Chi and Chao tail Wu and observe him speaking to Hsin Lung clan chief Tsao Hung (Tang Wei-cheng). A quarrel ensures, and Wu knocks Tsao down. Mo suddenly emerges from hiding with his mute maid, (Yang Tsing-tsing), and kills Tsao after telling him that he has similarly killed many others coming for the treasure. The two friends hiding inside lure Mo forward to attack them, whereupon Chi uses firecrackers to disable Mo and flees.Mo and his friend Hsu Ning set traps in his mansion and invite Wu to come there, but Chi and Chao arrive first. Wu arrives later intending to inform Mo that there is no treasure. Chao accidentally touches a button, causing Hsu to get killed. Mo and his mute maid rush out along with several other swordsmen. Wu suffers heavy injury, but is rescued by Chi and Chao.Mo takes his men to storm the temple and force the abbot to reveal the treasure location. Wu, Chao and Chi arrive.
