Hoe Hing Pak Fah Yeow

In 1927, Mr. Gan Geok-Eng founded Hoe Hin Pak Fah Yeow Manufactory Ltd. in Penang, Malaysia. In 1951, he decided to come to Hong Kong to develop his business. In 1953, Hoe Hin Company first joined the 11th Exhibition of Hong Kong Products and organized the Miss Charity elections in order to raise funds for Chung Sing Benevolent Society.

For many years, Hoe Hin created sizeable booths in the exhibition and attracted Governor Sir Alexander Grantham and Miss Festival of Hong Kong (1971) to visit their booths. The Company also hired young ladies to sell their products at their exhibition booths. Famous actress Helena Law once appeared as Miss Pak Fah Yeow at the exhibition. During the 1950s and 1960s, Hoe Hin has invited artists including Tang Bik-wan, Wu Fung and Ng Kwai Lai to visit their booths, who have successfully attracted a large crowd of spectators to gather around their exhibition booths.
