Cheung Chi Cheung, Cheung Gor, born in Hong Kong in 1954. When Chenug Gor was a child, he lived in an old Chinese tenement with his family in the area from Canton Road to Mong Kok. His father was a wholesale fruit market merchant, his mother was a hawker in the Kwun Chung Market. Yau Ma Tei was the place where he studied, played and grew up. He started working at the wholesale fruit market at 15 as an odd-job man. Later, he was promoted to seller and merchandiser. He inherited his father’s shareholdings and operated several fruit markets, namely the Tai Yik Lan, Tai Shing Lan and Tai Yik Chan. He is the Deputy Director of the Kowloon Fruit & Vegetable Merchants Association and a member of the Yau Ma Tei district committee.
