Wong Wan Pui

Biography

Wong Wan Pui (Pui Gor) was born in Hong Kong on 1 January 1941. Pui Gor’s family operated the Sheung Kwong Electric Co. founded by his grandfather in 1922. When Pui Gor graduated from secondary school in 1960, he helped his grandfather with the shop’s business and took over it in 1986 when his grandfather died. Pui Gor has witnessed the changes in Shanghai Street in the last several decades. The old shops nearby closed or moved one after another, Sheung Kwong is the only old shop left. Pui Gor has the wish to lead the shop to celebrate the 100th year of operation.
