Description | Many people in the back row of this photo were leaders of Nga Tsin Wai. Among them were Ng Wai Chi (fourth from left) and Ng Yun Chor (first from left). Ng Wai Chi was the President of the Seamen’s Union while Ng Yun Chor served as Nga Tsin Wai’s Village Headman during the later period of the Japanese occupation. Also pictured are Ng Fat Chai (third from right) who was the Village Representative, and Lee Kam Chuen (third from left) who was Lee Foo’s father. This photo was taken in 1948 near Kai Tak Nullah. |

Description | Beginning with the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War and lasting through to the mainland’s liberation, there was constant influx of new immigrants into Nga Tsin Wai. Eventually, the new arrivals gradually outnumbered indigenous villagers surnamed Ng, Chan and Lee. This picture shows the ownership plan drawn by Lee Foo in 1979 while he served as the Village Headman. |
