Camelpaint Chemicals Co., Ltd. was founded in 1932 by Mr. Yan Bing-kwun – who has returned to Hong Kong from the US – and Mr. Wong Wai-yin. It was a company that manufactured and sold paints. In 1938, when the first Exhibition of Chinese Products was organized in St. Paul’s College in Glenealy of Central, Camelpaint was one of the exhibitors. The Company was then renamed The National Lacquer and Paint Products Co., Ltd., and their booth was set in room 2 (no. 34) of the Hall One. The Company won a special award for outstanding industrial products. In 1948, the exhibition resumed and Camelpaints set up an exhibition booth at the 6th Exhibition of Chinese Products. For years, National Lacquer and Paint Products used the Camelpaint brand as the sign of their exhibition booths. In 1953, the factory was the second runner-up in the booth design contest of the 11th Exhibition Hong Kong Products.
