Collector's Note | The timbre of this qin is solemn, ancient and tranquil. Although it is based on the Lianzhu (chained pearls) style, some variations can be found in the body. For example, the waist of a Lianzhu style commonly comprises three arcs, but there are five on this qin. The protruding parts on both sides of the peg shields are engraved with the shape of scattering clouds. According to the inscriptions at the back of the qin body, it was constructed from very good materials by Zheng Shunan. The instrument was kept in the family and handed down to Shunan’s son, Zheng Junyou. |
