Collector's Note | The timbre of this qin is calm, penetrating and smooth with a lingering charm. Once collected by a qin musician in Guangdong, it later passed into the poessession of a qin enthusiast in Japan before eventually returning to Hong Kong. Mr Tung, the photographer of a book on collection of qins, has detected some possible characters beneath the paint at the position of the dragon pond and the phoenix pool through infrared imaging techniques. |
