Lacquer Characteristics | Top lacquered in black; bottom lacquered in black and chestnut layers. The body shows “bovine fur” and “water-ripple” crack patterns. The bottom of the forehead shows some evidence of a “cracked ice” pattern. |

Collector's Note | Qiushui was acquired in the 1990s. It was named by Mr Tung Wah-keung and inscribed by Mr Tong Chek-sing. It is said to emit a mild fragrance when playing it, which encourages qin students to learn the instrument in earnest. |
