  • Prospectus of St Stephen’s Girls’ College, 1913
    The bilingual prospectus (1913) with application form appended stated the aim of the School, type of education provided, subjects taught, facilities and fees charged for boarders and day scholars. It also showed that a kindergarten for children aged 4 to 7 was added to the School.
  • Hong Kong University - Objects, History, Present Position and Prospect, 1910
    A detailed account given by Governor Sir Frederick Lugard, elaborating on the objects of the scheme to establish the University of Hong Kong, its development and prospect. The appendixes of the document include estimate of revenue and expenditure, speeches at the ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone, 16 March 1910, and plans of the Main Building and student quarters.
  • Victoria British School
    The Government had decided to close the Victoria British School in Causeway Bay by the end of 1931. About 50 children would be affected.

  • Report of the Committee on Education
    This report gave a full review of the existing education system in the colony and made suggestions for measures needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the schools under government inspection. Specific attention was given to the use of English as medium of instruction for Chinese children and the teaching of English and Chinese language on more practical terms.
