Chun Au Knitting

Chun Au Knitting Factory Limited was founded by Tam Yiu-wan in the 1930s. The company established its own factory at Castlepeak Road in Cheung Sha Wan to produce knitted shirts, printed t-shirts, and vests. “Shell” and “Chicks” are the factory’s most well-known brands, with “Chicks” – launched in 1953 – remaining a well-known local favorite. Chun Au Knitting Factory Limited first joined the 11th Exhibition of Hong Kong Products (1953-1954) to promote and sell its knitted shirts. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company actively participated in the exhibitions and its booths featured large shell logos.
