Hop Hing Oil

Hop Hing Oil Factory Ltd was founded in 1932 with its factory established in Shantou, Guangdong by Mr. Hung Hok Yau and Mr. Shum Sheung Bo. Later, Mr. Hung and Mr. Shum founded two companies to engage in the business of importing, packaging and distribution of cooking oil. In 1936, Hop Hing Oil Factory in Guangdong launched the “Lion Globe Peanut Oil”. After WWII, in 1950, Hop Hing Oil Factory established a self-operated factory at Castle Peak Road producing peanut oil in Hong Kong. Today, “Lion Globe” was a widely known household brand.

Hop Hing Oil Facotry joined the 2nd Exhibition of Chinese Products in 1939 to sell peanut oil. After the WWII, Hop Hing Oil Factory continued to set up booths at the exhibitions to show and sell the “Lion Globe Peanut Oil”.
