Lo Lieh

Among the actors of Shaw’s, Lo Lieh (1940-2002) stood out with his chivalrous image and handsome elegance. Director Chang Cheh made him play supporting roles in movies, including The Butterfly Chalice (1965) and Tiger Boy (1966). From 1970s onwards, he took part in movies by many other Shaw’s directors. The more renowned movies were The Kiss of Death (1973) and Heroes of Sung (1973). In 1972, he starred in King Boxer, which was the first Shaw’s film to be screened in America. This film confirmed his position as lead actor. In 2002, he died of illness at the age of 64 in Shenzhen.
