Lui Kay

In the 1950s and 60s, Shaw’s set up its Cantonese section to serve the Hong Kong and Nanyang markets. James Lui Kay (1942-) was a leading figure of the Cantonese section. He joined Shaw’s in 1959, and collaborated with many Cantonese film actresses, like Patricia Lam Fung, Pearl Au Kar Wai and others, in many films. After leaving Shaw’s, Lui became one of the most popular male stars of Cantonese films in the 1960s. In 1974, he started to actively produce porn films for Shaw’s, with Starlets for Sale (1977) being a more renowned one.
