Hui Ying-hung

Wai Ying-hung (1960-) got a basic contract with Shaw’s in 1977 and then appeared in The Brave Archer (1977) as the second lead actress. After that, Lau Kar-leung saw her potential and gave her the opportunity to star in various action movies, including Dirty Ho (1979), The Eight Diagram Pole Fighter (1984), etc. With her agility in body movements, she built for herself the image of a tough female fighter. In 1982, she won the 1st Hong Kong Film Best Actress Award with My Young Auntie (1981). She was, after Cheng Pei-pei, a popular Shwa’s martial arts actress in the 1970s and 80s.
