Mona Fong

Mona Fong (1934-) joined Shaw’s in 1969. In the beginning, she was responsible for purchasing and financial management. After Raymond Chow’s resignation from the Shaw’s to set up Golden Harvest in 1970, Mona Fong started to handle the duties of a producer concurrently with her other existing duties. From there on, she got further involved in film production and in administrative management. In 1971, she assisted Shaw’s to list on the stock market of Hong Kong, issue stocks and expand its capital. She was appointed as Shaw Director in 1981 and was appointed as Executive Director in 1996. Five years later, in 2001, in addition to all existing capacities, she also took office as Executive Deputy Chairperson. In her 40 years of service, she gradually climbed the corporate ladder and became the head of the Shaw corporation.
