RTHK is the pioneer in live public affairs phone-in programmes inviting views from the public. It started with Late Call hosted by Franklin Wong in 1969, followed by An Hour with Eddie by Eddie Au Yeung in the 1970s, later evolved into Talkabout hosted by Chu Pui Hing.
