Cap-sleeved and sleeveless cheongsam (1)

The cheongsam of the 1940s embodied a continuation of the 1930s version in form, although the hemline was raised to reveal the calves. Barely embellished, cap-sleeved and sleeveless cheongsam were very popular at the time. The calendar posters of the 1930s with their pictures of fashionable models reflect the popularity of cap-sleeved and sleeveless cheongsams in Hong Kong of that era.

The cheongsam is made of see-through knitted fabric with black heart-shaped flower buttons. The piping is of even width along the edges. One of the notable features of this dress is the very long slit on the left side.
