See-through cheongsam (5)

See-through cheongsam was immensely popular during the 1930s. With abundant materials to choose from, they are fashioned with perforated and see-through synthetic fabrics and must be coupled with a slip when worn.

The collar of this cheongsam has been reinforced with nylon to make it stiffer. A binding was hand sewn onto the collar, cuffs, front-flap and hem. The width of the binding is consistent throughout the garment, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship.
