FULL HOUSE at the Happy Valley Racecourse, 1970s

The popularity of horse racing in the 1970s often resulted in a full house at the Happy Valley Racecourse, at which time a red flag – signifying a full house and therefore no further admission is allowed into the racecourse – would be hoisted at the entrance of the Happy Valley Racecourse. Racegoers arriving too late and stopped from entering the racecourse would end up enjoying the races along the fence bordering the racecourse on Wong Nei Chung Road.
