The Happy Valley Racecourse, 1975
Floodlights shined the Happy Valley Racecourse at night in 1973, when night racing was started in Hong Kong. The inaugural night meeting on 17 October was an instant success, and followed by a series of night races. Such races were first conducted on sand track only, and were not extended to the turf until 1980.
