Happy Valley Racecourse

View from the north of the Racecourse at Happy Valley. The monument in the left-hand foreground bears the following inscription: "This monument was erected by Capt. Charles Talbot, the officers and crew of H.M.S. Vestal to the sacred memory of their daparted shipmates. March, 1847." The monument was a well-known landmark for many years when it stood at the junction of Queen's Road East and Leighton Road. It was removed in the 1950s to the Hong Kong Cemetery.
