Tai O, Lantau Island

Tai O is a fishing village situated on the western side of the outlying island of Lantau. Wooden houses built on stilts are among the attractions of this sleepy community, whose residents make their living from fishing, duck farming, rice growing, processing salted fish and making shrimp paste.
