Post Office Pillars, Kadoorie Farm, Tai Po

This set of imposing pillars are from the main doorway of the original General Post Office building in Central District, and were donated to the Farm by Mr Y.C. Liang, CBE (a Hong Kong war hero) in 1976. Mr Liang was an old friend of Sir Horace Kadoorie. When the old post office building was torn down, he rescued the pillars from the demolition company and gave them to Sir Horace as a token of their friendship. They create a perfect frame for the expansive view across the Lam Tsuen Valley.
