Ma Wan

Ma Wan is an island lying off the northern coast of Lantau Island. In the past, the inhabitants of Ma Wan were mainly fishermen and farmers. Consequently, there is also a long-standing fishing community and several small squatter settlements. However, with the decline of both activities, many residents now engage in mariculture or renting out leisure boats to tourists. Only a small number of them still continue to fish in the coastal waters.
