Government House, Central District

Constructed in 1855, the Government House had been the official residence of the Governors of Hong Kong until the end of British rule in the territory. The building underwent major alterations during the Japanese Occupation period. Since the establishment of HKSAR, Government House has become the venue for the Chief Executive and the government to hold important official functions.
