Incense Offering from Sanyuan Palace

The picture shows the incense offering from Sanyuna Palace. The ritual master makes offerings to the gods to show piety. Taoist rituals use in general incense, flowers, lamps, water and fruit, known as the “five offerings”. Apart from real objects, finely carved jade, wood and ceramic models are sometimes used for their symbolic value.
