In 2003, Mr. Richard Lam was posthumously awarded the Golden Needle Award of the 26th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award by RTHK. The trophy was generously donated by Mr. Richard Lam's family to Hong Kong Central Library for permanent preservation in 2004. In 2004, the Hong Kong Public Libraries was honoured to receive a number of manuscripts of Mr. Richard Lam's lyrics from his family, and co-organised with the Hong Kong Composers and Authors Society an exhibition of some of the manuscripts and other invaluable materials from November to December 2004.
