Xinhui Huangkeng Haihuai Overseas Chinese Cemetery (2)

All unclaimed urns of bones and coffins – or when a family could not afford burial – are buried in the yizhong (benevolent tomb). This photograph shows a headstone in Xinhui Huangkeng Haihuai Overseas Chinese Cemetery in Guangdong province. The characters "yizhong" are inscribed in the centre and the date of burial, "mid-spring in the 19th year of the Guangxu reign (1893)", can be seen on the left.
