The Infield, Happy Valley Racecourse , 1985

Apart from the spectator stands, the infield was also open for admission throughout the 1980s to accommodate the growing number of racegoers. Spectators would be admitted to the infield via the underpass from the entrance of Wong Nai Chung Road. Monitors were also installed in the infield to broadcast race information for the convenience of racegoers. At that time, there was standing room only for the infield; sitting areas with canopy cover was not added until 1983.
